Scholarships

The Dance Institute of Washington’s scholarship program is designed to promote students’ disciplined study of high-quality dance instruction.  Scholarships are awarded to students based on financial need, artistic ability, potential, and availability. Only those students wishing to receive need-based scholarships will need to submit scholarship applications. There are a limited number of scholarship awards available, so please apply early.

Scholarships will range from 25% to 50% of the tuition cost. Only severe hardship cases will be considered for scholarships above 50% and additional documentation may be required. Families meeting the following income guidelines will be eligible to receive need-based assistance.

•    Scholarship awards are not final until both the student (or parent if the student is younger than 18 years old) and DIW complete and sign the Scholarship Award Agreement.  Students who fail to adhere to the conditions of the agreement risk losing their scholarship.
•    Students who have outstanding balances will be ineligible to receive scholarship awards.
•    Scholarships do not cover the cost of registration and costume fees.
•    Scholarship students & parents receiving financial assistance are required to attend and assist at DIW Performances, Open Houses and other organizational activities.
All students who wish to receive a scholarship award must complete a scholarship application and submit with one of the following supporting documents:
Proof of Household Income for the parent(s) and/or legal guardian where the student resides
i.    Filed copy of Federal Income Tax Return with W2s attached or
