Pre Dance Program (Ages 4-5)

Pre-Dance is an introduction to dance for our youngest and most promising dancers. Classes provide an introduction to the basics of movement and meaning, with equal focus on education, enrichment, and enjoyment for children. Pre-Dance prepares the students for further dance training and entrance into DIW’s Community and Pre-Professional Programs.

What The Student Learns

The Pre-Dance curriculum reflects the National Standards for Learning and Teaching Dance. Lessons develop students’ gross and fine motor skills; creative expression; cognitive, social, and emotional development; and problem solving skills. Class content focuses on the vocabulary, traditions, and etiquette of classical ballet while exploring the elements of dance through creative movement and other dance forms. Please see the links below for the necessary forms to enroll your child.

Please note, in order to secure a space, the studio must receive the registration fee and 50% of the tuition. Summer tuition must be paid in full by the first day of class.
